Playdates and Hurricanes

If you think about it, say a prayer or two for the impact Hurricane Felix may do to Honduras. I lived in Honduras for a summer two years after Hurricane Mitch and there were still signs of the damage and strong in their memories. I think this one is hitting on the other side of the country from the last one but the impact will be just as strong both emotionally and to the land itself. Honduras is also the poorest country in Central America and this is much more of a blow to them.

In other news today is my second week of playgroup without even having a contributing player. 🙂 A group of friends started a babysitting co-op/playgroup and there are three babies and 4 expecting moms. This is the first time I’ve heard of the co-op idea. We’ll all get vouchers that are good for an hour of babysitting each and we’ll exchange them as we babysit and need babysitting. It should be good- the new moms won’t get coupons until January or so since we won’t have a kid that needs babysitting, but we are meeting together now since some of the moms haven’t met before. We are all moms with one baby so we’ve been joking about this will help up learn how to take care of more than one kid at a time- or thankful we don’t have multiples.

Yikes!!! Only 79 days to go. I really need to get cracking on a few things. I guess I need to wait until we get the house in Salem done (which is GOING to be this week) and then I can concentrate on Chalula/Rhonda’s??? baby blanket.
The co-op sounds great. Let us know how your appointment goes tomorrow.

Love you, all three – Mom
