The ultrasound results are in…

… and I bet you all are wondering how it went!

Well for starters the baby weighs exactly a half pound. So we still have a pretty small baby!

Good news is that for sure we have a normal umbilical cord this time. For the new readers out there I only had two of three blood vessels in the last umbilical cord. That put us on a high watch the rest of the time for Lucy’s size, etc. It was very very unlikely that it would happen again, but we just wanted to make sure.

I was pretty early for an ultrasound due to some weird scheduling so I need to go back later for our tech to get a better look at the heart chambers- we saw them pumping but the smallness made it hard to concentrate on them.

So now what you really wanted to know, I wanted to leave some suspense in the post! We are having another girl! It feels more like a relief to know that we can leave everything in place- so I haven’t been excited as much as glad just to know. I was worried we were going to be a family that has one girl- and Lucy was the one girl- it wasn’t a huge worry, mostly a thought. Now it’s good to know what to plan for and that we don’t have to repaint the nursery or anything.
