Infant Loss Awareness Month

October is Infant Loss Awareness month and I meant to post this earlier.

Here is some information from the SHARE website:

“In 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed a resolution declaring October as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, in order to increase understanding and awareness of the over 1 million deaths each year of babies in pregnancy or in the first few months of life. The Awareness Month, meant to bring to light the devastating losses suffered by so many each year, is marked by different ceremonies and services in different communities , including the many Walks to Remember held around the country. For more information about Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, and events marking the month, go to www.october15th.com. “

    Hey Amy,

Thank you for posting about this. I can’t believe the number of children lost each year. I am astounded that it’s so high. My heart breaks for you and all of the other women who are dealing with this. I can’t even imagine the pain of a loss like this. How can we all be more sensitive to you or other women we know in similar situations? In what ways can I pray for you now? Sorry for the “heavy” comment; I just want you to know that you and Lucy are just as much on my mind as you were two-and-a-half months ago.
