Overheard

Tonight Tim and I went to our favorite hangout- Starbucks, of course! He has a lot of homework for grad school and I am currently addicted to Sudoku more than television. So we sit there together instead of at home doing the exact same thing.

There weren’t a lot of people there and around 9:00 it seemed that they all left at once. We were sitting in the corner and it was fun being the only ones in the store- a nice calm feeling. This gave the baristas a chance to relax and talk to each other.

They were chatting away and started talking about what they are attracted to in the opposite sex- you know, the normal 19-21 year old conversions. Then one boy said that since he is Italian and Irish there are certain things that he just HAS to have in a wife. Someone else then said something about her husband being German, Irish and Italian so she has a lot to live up to. Then they all keep talking about their backgrounds and how that will effect dating.

And that to me was the funniest conversation- because you know, the first thing I made sure Tim knew was that I come from an English background… šŸ™‚ Except for some of the Italian and Greek stereotypes out there I wouldn’t even know where to begin on that topic! They’ll soon realize that it won’t be as high on the qualifying list as they thought it would be. And, they gave Tim and I a good chuckle tonight!
